Google Stop Unsupported rules in Robots.txt

In last 25 years REP (Robots Exclusion Protocol) was only a de-facto standard. This had really a frustrating implementation sometimes. Now Google announced that we are open sourcing Google’s production robots.txt parser.

So we can say that Google now officially allow that 1st Sep-2019 onwards GoogleBot will no longer obey a robots.txt directive relative to indexing. So webmaster need to remove noindex directive from robots.txt and use other alternative as suggested by Google.



Google says that the Noindex robots.txt directive is not supported because it’s not an official directive. Earlier Google bot supported that but now it’s not supported.

Google Mostly used to obey Noindex Directive –

Last couple of years Google obey robots.txt file for noindex but now Google announce that it will not be no longer supported, below is the code which we used to noindex whole website by robots.txt

Google My Business – Create a Short Name & URL for Your Verified Business

If you have your business registered with Google than you will see a new change in info section. Now you are able to create a short name for your business registered with Google my business.



When you will create a short name (URL) for your business than you can directly share that short URL with your customer they can directly open that URL and able to see your business listing. Customer will enter the url like “g.page/[yourcustomname]”, and directly land on your business listing.

So when you login in GMB then in info section you will see this option as per below screen

When you will click on Add profile short name you will see below screen

Now you need to choose the profile short name and create a short URL for your business. Hope this will provide an easy to share your address URL with your users.

Today I am going to share my experience with Google analytics. I am using this tool since 2011. In my early time I always use a normal practice for example just create an account taking a GA code and implemented it on all pages of website. Now I have seen that there is lots of optimization which we can do for Google analytics data optimization.



As per my understanding there 4 basic things on which Google analytics works

Ø  Data Collection

Ø  Processing

Ø  Configurations

Ø  Reporting

So as per these four things Google analytics first collect the data on your site, then processes it based on the configuration and provides the output in different reports which based on ABC structure

A Stands for Acquisition

B stands for Behaviour

C stands for Conversions

Now you can produce any report which you want.

Now I am sharing top 5 things which you should do for your all properties in GA.

  1. Filter Internal Traffic– When you are creating a GA account and you are very well aware about the data then sure you will create GA structure as below

GA Account àPropertyàView 1(Master Data view)àView-2 (Staging View)àView-3(Unfiltered View)

So Master view we will share with business and in this view data should be proper optimized. For getting proper data you should exclude all internal traffic because it will be a cause of wrong analysis. We can say

                                     Internal Traffic = Inaccurate Analysis

By using below step you can use a filter to exclude internal traffic

Step-1 Login GA and click the Master View

Step-2 Click on Admin àFiltersàAdd Filters

Step-3 Name of the Filter – Exclude Internal Traffic

Step-4 Select a condition there and exclude IP address for internal traffic

Step-5 Click Save

  2. Avoid Crawler & Bots Traffic– You should do implementation in GA such a manner so that you are able to avoid bots traffic.

How to use Google Search Console?

What is Google Search Console?

Google Search Console (GSC) formerly known as Google webmaster tool is a free platform where you can monitor your website, how google views it and optimize to increase the organic presence.



It includes majorly-

Ø   Referring Domains

Ø   Schema Structure

Ø   Query

Ø   Pages

Ø  Mobile site Performance etc.

Adding your Website and Domain in Search console- You can use all variation of your website in search console, recently search console update to add a domain along with all variation. So if you will add a domain then it will include data for all variation of that domain.

Below are the steps which you can use to add your website in search console:-

Step- 1 Login in Search console with your professional ID and then click on add Property as per below screenshot

You can add domain as well as URL Prefix, in case of domain adding you need to verify with DNS and you will see the below one

When you will add variation of your domain i.e. www.example.com then you will see below screen

Methods to verify your site in Google Search console:

In case of domain verification you need to add code in DNS record which should be done at server level by team.

Apart from this if you are verifying domain variation linke www.example.com then you can use below method for verification.

HTML Tag – Add a meta tag to your site’s home page as per below instruction

  1. Copythe meta tag below, and paste it into your site’s home page. It should go in the <head> section, before the first <body> section.<meta name=”google-site-verification” content=”kRGyjcY3HrQLeRFqEvNHMHzwFOe18VHphLqsFR18gXY”
  1. Click Verifybelow.

To stay verified, don’t remove the meta tag, even after verification succeeds.

Google Analytics – Use your Google Analytics account

  1. You must be using thegtag.js tracking code.
  2. Your tracking code should be in the<head>section of your page.
  3. You must have the “edit” permission for the Google Analytics property.

The Google Analytics tracking code is used only to verify site ownership. No Google Analytics data will be accessed.

Google Tag Manager – Use your Google Tag Manager account

  2. You must have the “manage” permission for the Tag Manager container.

You can share Google search console access for any user which is registered with Google. When you will click on add user you will see two option there

XML Sitemap submission-

For better understanding you should prepare your xml sitemap and submit it in Google search console. You need to use below step to submit your xml sitemap in search console

Step-1 Login to GSC

Step-2 click on Sitemap and you will see below screen

Once you will click on submit you will see the status of submission and all status for all url which has mentioned in Search console.

Once you will fill all required information you will see below screen.

You will get a call to verify your business. Now your business is added and verified on Apple map.
